Benjamin Horwitz graduated from Weizmann Institute in 1984, and has been fascinated by signaling pathways of microorganisms. He joined the lab as a sabbatical visitor from the Technion in Haifa where his lab studies fungal-plant interactions, hoping to translate recent findings from an agricultural pathogen to a medically relevant one. He teaches plant science, genetics labs and signaling in bacteria and fungi. When not in the lab, Ben enjoys travelling, reading, running, swimming and the outdoors.
